I'm So Proud

Wendi of Ooh La La Creations left a comment on my friends, family and commissions blog telling me that she has given me my own gallery on her website, it is such an honour. After the upset we have had this week is it lovely to have something nice happen. I love Ooh La La Creations CDs and, if you pop over there, you will see the super collections Wendi and Emma have put together. You will also see I've made quite a few cards using their products. I didn't realise I was quite so productive! x

Ooh La La Creations meets Rainbow Lady

This card is for Ooh La La Creations 'Loretta's Sketch' which is fab and Rainbow Lady 'Magical & Mysterious'. Unfortunately I'm feeling anything but magical or mysterious just now, in fact I'm spitting mad and when I get my hands on the person who has made me mad they are gonna wish they hadn't been born ... sorry, shouldn't say that but I'm shaking with rage and my hands are sweaty which doesn't make for good crafting. I have to keep busy at the moment though.
Materials :
BP & Image - Dreams of Tranquility CD by Ooh La La Creations
Sentiment - computer generated
Flowers - Prima
rest of stuff from stash

Saturday Workout - Bandana

I'm not sure if this constitutes 'Bandana' in the SaWo challenge. This is my interpretation but I'd be grateful if someone would keep me straight as to whether it is correct or if I'm way off target!
Materials :
The base card has been in my stash for literally years and it was pre-embossed. I bought it from Craftwork Cards (I think) one year I was at the SECC but don't know how long ago. Keep a thing long enough and you WILL find a use for it ...
I have chalked the embossing with dark grey and gold, sorry it doesn't show up very well in the pic
Image - 'Glasgow Fan' by Stampendous, embossed with 'Gold' by Funstamps
Outline - Sakura White Glaze pen #850
Shapes cut with Nestabilities
Black flower - Flora Doodles from Joanna Sheen
White flower - Prima
Other bits and pieces from my craft box

Secret Crafter - Sketch #4

I have followed the 'Sketch #4' from Secret Crafter to create this card. I have decided to do this card at class this week - that will keep them busy, decoupage, measuring and cutting. :-)
Materials :
Star BP - Dufex
Pink BP - Kanban
Flower - Prima
Decoupage - Jalekro
Other bits from my craft box

Joanna Sheen meets Rainbow Lady!

This one is a doubler! Joanna Sheen 'No Patterned Paper' and Rainbow Lady 'Ribbons'. It's another of my simple cards!!!

Materials :
Image - Pamela West Collection CD from Joanna Sheen
Corners cut from gunmetal satin mirri card using Cuttlebug dies
All other bits and pieces from stash

Penny Black - ATC

I'm on the mend - I feel like crafting again! There are so many new challenges to inspire me! This 'ATC' was made for the Penny Black one and as I'm meeting a fellow Sheenie in Benidorm tomorrow it came at a perfect time.
Materials :
BP - 'Boldly Blue Dots' from Doodlebug
Stamp - 'Daisy Surprise' by Penny Black
The background was inked up with 'Peacock' Brilliance ink then triple+ embossed with clear embossing powder. The PB stamp was inked up with Staz On 'Timber Brown' which I prefer as I think it gives a softer image than Jet Black
Flower - Prima

Tilda & Co - Sketch #40

I'm going to have a lazy night as I'm all mojo'd out for today. This last card was done using 'Sketch #40' from Tilda & Co. I had no idea what do you at first but am pleased with the outcome now that it's finished. Thanks for visiting.
Materials :
Vellum background from Making Cards Christmas 2007
Image - Hanglar & Stanglar image coloured with Sakura Stardust and Glaze pens
Everything else is from my stash

Cutie Sunday - Sketch #14

I am busy on commissions today again but trying to incorporate challenges into each one! This one is from Cutie Sunday 'Sketch #14'. I'm disappointed in the colour of the backing on the image as in real life it is definitely green whereas it looks a bit turquoise in the picture. Must be the reflection from the scan as it's mirri card.
Materials :
BP - from Making Cards Christmas magazine 2007, yes that's correct - 2007
Image - Penny Black 'Snowy & Hedgy' and coloured using Sakura Stardust pens
Circle was cut using Fiskars Circle Border Punch 'Antique Elegance'
Image backing - Silk Mirri Card from Joanna Sheen
Rest of bits and bobs from stash

Created Byhand - Thanks

This is the other card I'm doing for my class this week. It was inspired by Edna and I've managed to incorporate it into the Created Byhand 'Thanks' challenge. I hope the 'girls' at the class enjoy creating it.
Materials :
Thanks - from the Cuddly Buddly 'Round Greetings' range
Image - Forever Friends 'Bunch of Daisies' stamp coloured with Sakura Stardust Pens
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder 'Swiss Dots'
Border - Xcut 'Butterfly' border punch
Butterflies - 'left overs' from the punch and have been glittered with Stickles 'Star Dust'
Circles cut with Nestabilities (you may have guessed by now I only have the circles but hopefully that will be remedied after Christmas as some other shapes are on my wishlist - and I'm trying to be VERY good!)

Double Dutch meets Ooh La La Creations

Another double challenge and something unusual. I'm going to find a nice notebook to put in this and pop it in my Aunt's Christmas stocking! She loves 'different' things. 'Just a Note' notebook cover is for the Double Dutch challenge (instructions are on the site) and I've been able to incorporate Ooh La La Creations' 'Flower Power'. I think it looks a bit Victorian - but that's not the way it started out!!!

Materials :
BP and image from free papers downloaded from Ooh La La Creations. The image has been cut with Nestabilities and the dots added with Marvy marker #15 - Olive Green
Lace from a bundle I got on ebay
Peeloffs from stash

Crazy Amigo meets Lots To Do

Another of my simple cards! I'm using this design for my class tomorrow but have managed to take in two challenges - Crazy Amigo 'Animalistic' and Lots to Do 'Embossing'.
Materials :
Embossing - a design from the Fiskars Shape Boss 'Floral' stencil
Pearls from Joanna Sheen
Butterfly and peeloff from stash

3 - in - 1

Well, I've managed it again, but only a 3-in-1 this time! I've qualified for Cute Card Thursday 'Buttons & Bows', Dutch Dare 'Christmas Card' and finally Our Creative Corner 'Anything but Square'. I've scanned it onto a dark background so that you can see that this card is certainly not square!

WSC - Sketch #61

I'm getting through the commissions quite well. I've used 'Sketch #61' from WSC to make up this card. It is a really simple sketch but VERY effective. I'll definitely be using it again.
Materials :
BP - 'Basically Black Stripes' and 'Basically Black Dots' both from Doodlebug
Image from Google Images
Peeloff from stash
Shapes cut with Nestabilities

Joanna Sheen meets Whiff of Joy

This one's a commission for my friend's grandson who is an avid 'wall-climber'. I have used Whiff of Joy 'Sketch #3' for inspiration and it also fits in with the Joanna Sheen 'Sports' challenge.

Materials :
BP - Double sided 'Life Words' from the Inspirables collection by EK Success along with double sided 'Under the Boardwalk' from Scrapperdashery
Image - Google Images
Rest of bits and pieces from my stash

Rainbow Lady - Own Choice

My grandaughter has holidays from school in November as there are Fiestas so she is going back to the UK for a few days with my daughter. My daughter asked me to make a friendship candle for her to give to her friend when she's 'home' so I was able to use it to take part in Rainbow Lady's challenge of 'Your Own Choice'. That's all for tonight, sleep well x

Ooh La La Creations - Shabby Chic

This is the second card for one of my commissions. I used the title 'Shabby Chic' from the Ooh La La Creations challenge as my inspiration. I'm good at stressing but don't think I've got the art of distressing yet. I love the image so I'm going with it anyway!
Materials :
Pyramage and BP from the 'Passion for Fashion' CD by Ooh La La Creations
Brilliance Starlite Black pigment ink for the distressing but if anyone can give me any tips, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'd be really grateful
Black crystal gems from Joanna Sheen
Lace and peeloffs from stash

2S4U - Sketch #10 by Laura

I have quite a few commissions to do at the moment so I used 'Sketch #10 by Laura' from 2 Sketches 4 You for the first one.
Materials :
BP from a bundle I had for last Christmas although these ones are not necessarily very Christmassy!
Flowers - Prima
Stamps from the 'Especially for You' set by Jane Nestorenko coloured with my watercolour pencils but not 'watered'!
Flower centres from my stash

Blog Candy - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Suzanne at Slumber Cards has some wonderful blog candy on offer with a little challenge attached. Here's what she says on her blog
"I want to do something special for my blogoversary and 30,000 hits. The October "Think Pink" campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness is very close to my heart and I am sure it is the same for many of you too, so when the new "Tilda Think Pink" stamps were released on Saturday I was straight on the site to order 2 Tildas and a couple of sentiments. I have decided as you girls have been so kind and supportive over the past year I am going to give one of each ... a BCA Tilda and sentiment along with lots of pink goodies ... to make your cards with. I am going to keep this open for the whole month of October and I will get my Mum to choose a winner on Friday 31st October at 20.00 hrs.
Here is what I would like you to do ... if you have time can you make a pink card and send it to someone who could do with a little tender loving care. It would be lovely if it was someone who's life has been touched by this terrible disease but it can be anyone who could do with a kind word and a beautiful card to cheer them up. I am sure we all know someone."
Check out her blog for more details.

Well, this is a record for me - 4 challenges completed in 1 card! I've managed to take part in Cupcake Craft 'Sketch #8', My Time to Craft 'Teddies', ABC 'L is for Lace' and finally ... Wednesday Stamper 'Brown Combo'. Whew, that's gonna be the last one for tonight! Think I deserve to put my feet up and watch TV now.

Stamp - Forever Friends. I have stamped the image using Ranger Archival Ink in Sepia and also tried to distress the oval using the same ink
Lace from a bundle I picked up in the charity shop!
Flowers - Prima

Class - 09.10.08

When we moved to Spain at first I joined a craft class to make friends. The girl who ran the class decided, not long after I started, to move back to England so I jumped at the chance to take over. I had always dreamt of doing this while sitting in the office ... wishing! We are now into our third year and have all become firm friends. As well as making cards we have great fun and it's a social occasion as much as anything. I thought it was about time that I kept a record of what I do each week so that I don't start to repeat myself! I have become a fan of LOV and Flowersoft this Christmas so I thought I'd share it. These are the cards we are making tomorrow.

Materials :
Circle Card
Card and acetate cut with Nestabilities
Image - Matilda from LOV 'Winter Princesses'
BP Insert - Red Swirls from LOV
Stamps - 2 from 'Floral Filigree Wreath' Tapestry Stamp Set

Joanna Sheen meets Papertake & Cutie Sunday

This card started off for the Joanna Sheen challenge of 'Paradise' (my idea of it anyway!) and along the way I managed to combine in with Papertake 'No Stamping' and Cutie Sunday 'Sketch #13'. I have left the bottom panel blank for the moment so that I can add a sentiment when I decide what occasion the card will be used for.

Materials :
All papers by Doodlebug
Image from a chocoholic friend of mine
Card and embellies from my stash

Cuttlebug meets Lots to Do

Cuttlebug have started a challenge blog so thought I'd give it a go. Their first challenge is '3 Different Embossing Folders' and I've combined this one with Lots to Do 'No Stamps' theme. A while ago I made a card for a LOV challenge with a similar image using glitter for the fur. Jacqui asked me if it was flowersoft and an idea was born ... what do you think?
Materials :
Snowflakes - Sizzix green die 'Snowflake #2'
Image & BP from LOV
Flowersoft
I've used Cuttlebug Embossing Folders 'Swiss Dots' and 'Swirls' on the snowflakes and 'Hearts' (on their sides) for the bit behind Kimi
All other materials from my stash

Dotties World meets Secret Crafter

This is a two-in-one challenge as one is a sketch and the other a named challenge. There is a new challenge blog called Secret Crafter and they have set 'Sketch #1' for their first week. I have combined this with Dottie's World 'Love Is' challenge and come up with this card.
Materials :
Image - 'I Do' from Dottie's Love and Marriage Digital Collection
Congratulations BP - Craft Creations
Circles have been cut using Nestabilities
With Love Stamp - Cuddly Buddly set of Round Greetings
All other elements from my stash box

Lili of the Valley - Sketch #2

This was a fantastic challenge 'Sketch #2' set by Nikki for Lili of the Valley. I really enjoyed doing it and there's a chance to be on the DT for 2 weeks. Don't think I have much chance but if I don't enter I certainly won't be in with a shout. Fingers (and everything else!) crossed.
Materials :
Bells from LOV Wedding Die Cuts
BP - Weddings Confetti Paper by LOV
Lilac card - Cuttlebug Heart Embossing Folder
Peeloffs, Lace, Flowers & Stones from my stash

Tanda Teaser - Just for You

This is the other card I've made for my friend. It's another of my simple ones! This one fits the Tanda Teaser challenge category of 'Just for You'. No more card making tonight as I want to watch some TV and I feel as though I've a cold coming on (my daughter shares everything with me!) so a couple of paracetamol and an early(ish) night is on the agenda. Thanks for visiting, it is much appreciated.
Materials :
Stamp - Clarice Cliff Set 1 by Tanda Stamps
The stamp has been coloured using Sakura Glaze and Stardust Pens
Cuttlebug Border from Just My Type Collection
Shapes have been cut using my Nestabilities with Bazzil Card

Di Hickman - Sketch Oct #1

This, and the card to follow, have been very difficult as they are for my friend to send to her brother who is in a hospice at the moment for respite care. She is an extremely talented crafter herself but is finding it hard to make these cards. Never one to miss an opportunity I created this card using Di Hickman's 'Oct #1 Sketch'.
Materials :
BP - Swimming Pool Stripe and Seabreeze Polka Dots from Doodlebug
Stamp - Wish Upon a Star Collection by Jayne Nestorenko
Peeloffs, Brad and Ribbon from my stash
