Dotties World

I really found this card extremely difficult to photograph but I think you can just make out that the front of the card is actually acetate from the scallop edge.  The image, sentiment & corner are all adhered to the acetate.

Mojo Monday / PB

No challenge yesterday as we were helping friends move house so the day was gone in a flash and I was dog tired by the end of it so all I could do was put my feet up and watch TV.

To be totally honest I couldn't think how to make a circular card because I wanted a fancy edge so I decided to make a topper instead and also hope that I'm in time to enter the Mojo challenge.

I printed the flower onto coloured card and left the bottom flower plain.  The top part of the 3D I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Swirls embossing folder then chalked over the top.  I finished it off using a paper rose for the centre.

Award

As some of you know I've asked that awards be directed to new bloggers rather than me.  When I was just starting out with my blog, awards certainly gave me the inspiration to carry on and I'd like newbies to feel the same, however, I'm chuffed to bits with this one.  I am the challenge setter and part of the DT at Ooh La La Creations.  Dawn is our GD for January and February and the reason I got this award from her was 'thanks for taking me on and giving me a laugh'.  Thank you so much hun xx

The Rules
1 : Copy and Paste the award on my blog - done
2 : List who gave the award and link back to their blog - done
3 : List 10 things that make you happy (in no particular order) - done

Two I Made Today

I was on a roll and had downloaded some Fred, She Said stuff a while ago and thought I'd have a go with it.  I have sooo much unused stuff ...... but there's always something new to take my fancy!!!  You should check out Fred's blog as she has such a lot of wonderful downloads, and loads (I really mean loads) of freebies too.  Unfortunately at the time I was making these cards I didn't realise Fred had started a challenge blog so neither fit the theme, but hey, I'll just have to make another one!

Anyway, hope you like what I've done this afternoon.

Elements :
Image & Sentiment - from Empty Pockets Shrugger Set by Fred, She Said.  I've water coloured the image using Marvy pens
Flower - Wild Orchid Crafts
Bling - Kanban

Image & Border - from Daisies with Bracket Borders by Fred, She Said.  I colour washed the flowers using Marvy pens and also water coloured the flowers on the border using Marvys
Pearl Brad - Hobby House
Backing - I ran some pearlised card through the Cuttlebug using the Forest Branches embossing folder
Ribbon - my ribbon drawer!

I didn't put a sentiment on this one - it's going in my 'just in case' drawer for an emergency then I can add whatever sentiment I need at the time.

At Last

At last we are back in Spain to some warmth and dry, black roads and pavements.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the family when I was in UK but unfortunately the rotten weather somewhat curtailed my activities.  I never saw a blade of grass the whole time I was there but there's plenty greenery here and it's nice.  We didn't have too bad a journey yesterday until we were actually sitting on the plane and they announced the air traffic controllers in France had gone on strike, yet again, and we wouldn't be taking off for another hour and a half .... brill I thought, but we were very lucky and were only 45 minutes late in the long run.  Coming into land at Alicante was rather hairy, more like a rollercoaster as it was very windy, but I managed, just, to keep my tummy in its rightful place and was very glad when we touched down.

I have been unpacking today and getting back to normal so hopefully next week I'll get back to blogging and challenging.  I can't believe we are in the middle of January already - I thought the time only passed quickly for the elderly (no comments please!)

*** NEWS *** NEWS *** NEWS ***

Starting 1 February there will be a fantastic ‘One Off Challenge’ with some very special candy as the main prize.  I believe the candy is a serious piece of kit that all of us would love to have in our craft room.  What is the candy you ask ... ... well, there will be some sneak peeks over the next 3 weeks so keep your eyes peeled.  As well as the main challenge prize, there will be runners up prizes and a Blog Hop with prizes to be won at each hop point.

To make this challenge fun, go on, spread the word - and there's even a prize for doing that!  Awesome or what?  To join, pop over to Brenda's Blog and enter your name in the first draw.  All the information you need will be found there.  Good luck!

Only 4 More Sleeps ...

till I'm back to our home in Spain.  The weather in the UK has been atrocious all the time I've been here (since 23 Dec) and it has really spoilt my holiday as I've not been able to get out and about and see all my relatives and friends like I usually do.  Not to worry, we are just keeping our fingers crossed the transport on Thursday will work in our favour and we can get home without too many problems.

I don't have any crafting stuff in the UK so I'm really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and taking part in challenges and blogging again.

To all my blogging friends - I wish you a happy and healthy 2010.

Hugs xx
