Wedding Day

Hi folks!  Hopefully I'll get back to being a better blogger now.  Since my granddaughter went home after the school holidays I've been sooooo busy.  We've had new carpets fitted in the hall, stairs, one of the spare bedrooms and my craft room.  Phew, what a lot of shifting furniture and then putting it all back.  I've had a complete rearrangement of the craft room and think it's a lot better now.  Today's been a gorgeous day and I got a load of washing done, out on the line to dry and then ironed - is my halo shining?  I'm just going to post this then toddle off to bed as my back is complaining tonight and I'm up early in the morning as my friend and I are having a day out while our other halves are on the golf course.  Let's hope it's another sunny day.

There are lots of challenges this week with a Wedding theme - I wonder why?  I am going to see my Aunt on Friday.  My cuz is going to be there too so we're having our own little party - any excuse for some fancy food!!!

The Ultimate Eagles

I just had to record this - hubby and I are just back from the most fantastic concert by The Ultimate Eagles.  

Here's what their bio says :

Covering the Eagles music is not a thing you attempt half-heartedly. The songs are deceptively complex, particularly the vocal arrangements and more importantly, the songs are revered throughout the world. Ultimate Eagles recreate the music with reverence, excitement and with a new stage show that focuses it’s bright lights on the 1970s, when the Eagles were at their mightiest. You just might find yourself whisked away to the sunny climes of Southern California. 

Boy oh boy, how true that is.  If you like the Eagles music then try to get to one of their concerts, it's the best night out I've had in a long time.

Off Centre

After I had posted this card I looked at it and thought it was a bit bare so, back to the desk, I made another one, this time adding some flourishes.  I think it looks better now!  It's my DIL's birthday tomorrow, and as I haven't yet made a card for her, I'm going to use this one as she's a very minimalist person so I hope she likes it.

Oooooops, I got a very nice ticking off from Mandi at Less is More - and rightly so!  I wish I'd read what's on the page and not what I think it should be then I'd get things correct!  The challenge was not only to use a Sentiment but also it was to be One Layer only.  When I read the comment I popped back to the craft room and did a card that goes by the rules!

I got the idea for this card from one of my fav bloggers Jacqui of The Cats Whiskers.  Thank you once again from your inspiration Jacqui and while I don't profess to be anywhere as talented as you, I'm quite pleased the way this card turned out.  This one will have to be for someone special this Easter.

I may not be around very much over the next couple of weeks as my granddaughter is coming to stay as it's school holidays again.  We hope to go to the cinema to see Hop, go to the Science Museum and have a day shopping in Glasgow.  My poor wee legs will be worn down to the knees.

Retirement

A good friend is taking early retirement and finished work yesterday.  She's a fanatical golfer and is Lady Captain of her club at the moment.  I've no doubt she will manage to fill her time (!) and will wonder how she ever managed to fit work into her busy schedule!  I do hope she can manage to squeeze in a coffee chat every now and again :)
