Leap Year Birthday

Hi!  Woopee, I'm getting my four-wheeled black beastie back this afternoon.  It transpired it was a brake hose that had broken and all the brake fluid had leaked onto my Son & DIL's drive, ooops!  Mr C and I are off to Callander this afternoon to pick the car up so there'll be no crafting done and I'm out to see my friend at night.

This card is on its way to one of my friends in Spain.  She was born on 29th February so only celebrates her birthday every four years.  Unfortunately it doesn't make her any younger as this year is a big birthday.  They say it doesn't make you feel any different but I'll tell you when my turn comes at the end of December!  Mr C and I are really looking forward to meeting up with her and her husband ... only 8 more sleeps!

Sorry there was no post yesterday.  Between trying to get something done about my car and some serious housework the day just disappeared.  In the evening I watched TV and did some knitting.  As far as the car is concerned ... you really don't want to know! I phoned a garage in the morning and was assured someone would recover the car during the day, guess what, nothing happened so this morning I phoned a different garage and am waiting for them to phone after recovering the car but I'm not holding my breath.  Will keep you posted.

Ooops

Hi, sorry I'm so late today.  Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a disaster.  Mr C and Son got the tree chopped up and loaded what we could into my car.  We stayed with them for a while and had a chat and a cuppa then when it was time to go I jumped (!) into the car, switched it on and the onboard computer said STOP - brake failure.  It sure was correct as the brakes were doing nothing and the steering wheel was locked.  Back to the house and phoned the recovery people.  Without going into details, as I'm still seething, they were less than useless and the outcome of the whole scenario is my car is still sitting in my Son & DIL's drive and tomorrow we will have to get the local garage to go and tow it away and see what's wrong with it.  Grrr...

I was meaning to get my cards for today done last night but by the time all the shenanigans over the car were done we had to get a run home from Son and it was almost 10.30 by the time we got home so, as you can imagine, I was in no mood for making cards - straight to bed with my book!

Today I was going to get the cards done in the afternoon but, I have to confess, I got a better offer - an afternoon out with my cousins and Aunt.  I'm just going to post these cards then off to bed again, I've a great book at the moment and can't wait to find out what's happening next.

AWOL Again!

The craft room's been neglected again!  Thursday morning was class and in the afternoon I went to Dundee with my Daughter and Granddaughter.  They are off to a wedding this weekend and my Granddaughter still had nothing to wear!  Young ones ... grrr!  We managed to get her a trouser suit which she looked lovely in and it's something she'll wear afterwards.  They left yesterday as there was a family meal last night and the wedding is today.  It's sunny here just now so hope they've got sun too.

It's just a quickie today as Mr C and I are off to see our Son and DIL this afternoon.  We've a log splitter to take to him and in return we're getting a bootful of wood, simple things make us happy.

Hi everyone! I didn't manage to blog yesterday - it was a busy day.  I had to visit someone about wedding stationery and then I went to see my Aunt.  A lovely day was had although the weather was pants.  It's blowing a hoolie here today and there's rain blowing through, methinks a day in the craftroom is in order but I have to add, I've already had the hoover and duster out and the washing machine is on so I don't feel guilty!!!

Morning!  Oooh it's another lovely day although it is cold and very windy but so far we've escaped the snow again.  Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I've made this card for a friend of ours who has just got engaged.  We hope, that although it's second time around, she will be very happy with the new man in her life.

My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed Cinderella on Ice.  The skating was magnificent and the costumes were stunning.  Wonder what it will be next year?

Get Well

Hello!  I'm later today as this morning I was waiting for the engineer to come and fix the washing machine.  It decided to let all it's water out over the floor the other day, just when I'd a heap to wash.  Thankfully, my bestest friend, said I could take my washing to her house last night when I was going to visit her anyway.  The chap came just before lunchtime so I'm now back in business.

It's the most beautiful day here again, sun and warmth (in the craft room anyway!).  My granddaughter and I are off to the the concert hall this evening.  There's a Russian skating group performing Cinderella on Ice.  We went to see them last year when they did Peter Pan and we thoroughly enjoyed it so hopefully tonight will be just as good.  I'm picking her up in a while and we're going out for tea first.

I've put my name down for GJWTHF craft day in Perth in June and was rooting around the tutors' blogs and saw a card like this on Debbi's blog so I've cased it ... thanks Debbi!

Hi! I'm going to use this card for my oldest friend, we've known each other for 43 years!!!  It's her birthday later in the year but I saw this image and thought of her.  We used to make all our clothes when we went dancing in our youth, so you can see where I'm coming from!

Soft Pink

Cold, grey and very damp today but no snow!  Mr C had to go to the doc yesterday as although he was no worse, he was no better.  Guess what ... it's a virus!  If he's no better by Monday he's to go back again.  Daughter is in bed too but she's got a different virus!  I was running about yesterday like a blue a***d fly getting shopping for us (we won't starve now) and shopping for her (they won't starve either!).  I really didn't mind as I wasn't doing anything else.  I bumped into a couple of friends when I was in town and had a cuppa and a scone with them, yum!  I'm really late getting this posted today.  I was out all morning at class and have been trawling the internet this afternoon looking for a birthday pressie for Mr C and my granddaughter.  Needless to say I still don't have a pressie for my friend ... aaah!  Hope you are all fit, well and warm.

Hi!  What a beautiful morning it is here.  Everywhere is white and sparkly with frost but the sun is shining and it's warm in the craft room!  Mr C has been in bed since Sunday with a fluey kind of thing but is feeling a bit better today.  He really must be feeling awful as he is NEVER off work, thankfully.  I'm having another day in the craft room as I've several birthday cards to do for March and as we are away then I'll need to get organised.  The card this friend is for is the one I go on most of my jaunts with.  She is soon off to America for 6 weeks and is spending her birthday this year at Florida Keys.  Her card is made but I don't have a pressie yet ... Morning! Funny how things turn out.  My lazy day by the fire didn't materialise yesterday!  My friend sent me a text asking if I was up to anything as she was fed up because her dearly beloved was watching football on tv.  Needless to say I'm always ready for a jaunt so we ended up at a lovely farm shop with restaurant (of course) on the shores of Loch Leven.  It was very cold but the sun was shining, all in all a beautiful day.  There were signs of a little snow in places but nothing to get excited about.  I spent the evening watching Dancing on Ice, ooh don't they make it look so easy.

Brrr, it's a cold world this morning but thankfully we've no snow.  It's a snuggle up by the fire day so that's just what I'm going to do as Mr C is working till 5 o'clock (funny shifts on a Sunday!)

My card today is for Sunday with Santa on FB and the theme this week is Birds.  I've used vellum on this card and at long last I've found a glue I can used all over the vellum without it showing through or warping.  I'm probably the last in the craft world to find this out but just in case you don't know it's All Purpose Glue by Collall, brilliant!  I'm still keeping my Christmas cards simple so that Mr Post Office can't charge me a fortune when the big day comes.

Bestest Friends

Hi!  I didn't have time to blog yesterday!  My friend and I had a day out to House of Bruar.  It was the most beautiful drive up the A9 and although it was very cold the sun was shining and there was snow sprinkled on the top of the hills.  We had a delicious lunch and then browsed through the shop.  When I got home it was time to cook the evening meal then I got my knitting out and watched tv.  Mr C and I are off to Spain on 8 March for a month and I'm busy knitting little cardigans for one of the charities in the town where we used to live.  It keeps my hands busy while watching tv in the evenings and I'm doing something worthwhile at the same time.

Mr C was working from midnight to midday so I'm up in the craft room this afternoon trying to get all my DT work up to date for going away.  I know there's still a few weeks till we're off but also I know how quickly things catch up with me!

This card was made from my latest purchase.  It's the Mabel Lucie Attwell CD by Katie Sue Designs.  I've loved MLA since I was little as I had several books with these adorable drawings.
