Sweet Baby

Evening all!
It's been another busy old day and I'm chasing my tail again!  What a beautiful day it's been and no cold wind for a change.  I was up with the lark this morning, into town for shopping and bits and pieces and home again by 11 o'clock!  The rest of the day has been spent crafting, jewellery making and my most hated of all jobs, cooking!

I've been having a good old rant tonight.  God bless one of my blogging buddies cos she had to listen to it.  Thank you, you know who you are!  To summarise : I placed a crafty order 11 weeks ago and still haven't received it.  I'm saying no more about it at the moment until I see what the reply to my email is but if I don't get any satisfaction, I'm naming and shaming.  I really hate shoddy customer service and I have to say, it's very very rare in the craft world.  Parcels are usually popping through my door almost as soon as I've placed the order.

Anyway, rant over so I'd better show you one of the creations I've made today.

Hugs

Mum to Be

Hello!
I'm running a bit late tonight as I was watching TV!  I was out with a school chum today and we ventured north to Grandtully to The Highland Chocolatier.  I can't believe I'd never heard of it before, let alone been there.  Awesome is the only word I can use to describe it.  You see the choccies being made and readied to be despatched to the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Claridges and Harvey Nics to name but a few so we are talking seriously wonderful stuff.  My dear friend bought me a cone of white chocolate buttons which I'm going to savour.  You will know by now that there would be an eaterie attached which was as delicious as the chocolates.  All in all it was a lovely day out, the sun was shining, it was warm (inside the car) and the scenery beautiful.  I can't believe how late everything is this year, only one more day until May and the trees are just beginning to spring to life.

Anyway, enough waffle for now and onto my card for today.  My daughter asked me to make this card for her department to give to one of their colleagues who is leaving to have a baby.  She knows it's going to be a boy which is why I've made it on the blue tones.  Hope you like!

Off to bed when I've finished this.  Sleep well!
Hugs

Christmas on Sunday

Hello there peeps!
Thanks for all the get well wishes.  I feel much better today.  I've got rid of my sore head and eyes and am just a bit stuffed up now.  The cough is still there but not nearly so bad ... maybe I've escaped the lurgy!  Fingers and everything else crossed.

Mr C decreed that it was to be a lazy Sunday and as it's hissing down outside I agreed with him so promptly climbed the stairs to the craftroom!  I've made three cards I'm about to share with you and they're all for the Christmas box.

Off now to make something to eat, late lunch or early dinner!  It's a take it as it comes day then I'm coming back to play as I've still loads of cards to make for the school fete so it's going to have to be a production line I think!  Endeavour is on at 8pm so I'll be back downstairs for that.

Enjoy the rest of the day.
Hugs

Clean & Simple

Hi folks
At last I've got round to sharing a creation with you.  I was out with my Aunt yesterday and by the time I got home I didn't feel too good.  I wasn't so bad when I got up this morning and went out for lunch with my daughter but am beginning to feel a bit poorly again.  My head and the back of my eyes are sore and I'm coughing like a good 'un.  I sincerely hope I've not got the bug that's going around cos it's another one that lasts for ages.  Another early night for me I fear.

Anyway, here's a card for the Saturday Less is More challenge.  The naughty photo fairy has been at work again and the card looks as though it's very squint ... not in real life though, believe me!

Off to make cuppa and take another couple of paracetamol.  NCIS is on shortly so that will keep me occupied until bed time.

Enjoy your evening.

Grandparents

Hi everyone!
I never got around to blogging yesterday again as I was out most of the day with my friend and in the evening I was watching TV and knitting!  Never a dull moment in my life.  Anyway, today Mr C is sleeping as he was on the midnight to midday shift so I am upstairs in the craftroom this afternoon.

My new computer is still getting on my nerves but I'm beginning to get the better of it.  My biggest problem is Epson doesn't have a driver for my all-in-one printer that works with Windows 8.  I tried downloading the drivers for Windows 7 but to no avail so my techy guru (son!!!) is on the case as I don't want to have to buy a new printer.  My printer is working but I can't change the print quality etc which is a real pain in the proverbial.

At long last I've actually made a card though!  This is one for our friends whose daughter recently had the twins.  I'm going to wrap it in tissue and pop it in an envelope box as it's going all the way to Spain.

I'm off now to make dinner but will probably be back later as there's nothing worth watching on TV tonight ... blasted footie again!

See you all soon.
Hugs

Frustration!!!

Hi everyone!
I'm still alive and kicking but mega mega frustrated!!!  I got my new computer on Friday and am trying to come to terms with all things new.  Every time I go to do something I've to look up where to find it.  This is one mean baby I've got and puts my decrepit old one to shame.

I came up to the craft room to make a couple of baby cards and haven't accomplished anything so unfortunately I've no share for you today.  I do want to tell you the twins (a boy and a girl) arrived this morning at 3am.  As it was a natural birth things took a bit longer than anticipated .... ouch!  I've no further info but will keep you posted!

My friend and I are off to bead class tonight, we're making a button necklace so if things still don't go according to plan, at least I'll have something to show you tomorrow!

Enjoy your evening.  Off to make a cuppa and soothe the frazzled nerves!
Hugs

Happy Birthday

Hello!
What a windy morning but the sun is shining and it's dry.  I'm off to meet my friend this afternoon for coffee and a rummage round the bead shop.  I've been making the Kumihimo bracelets for the school fayre but made some other ones yesterday and need more supplies as I got the thumbs up from my granddaughter and her friend.

While watching Scott & Bailey last night I knitted up another bag but I've not done the finishing off yet so will let you see it when I'm done. Yesterday I posted off the 10 little cardis and 2 blankets I knitted for the mum to be of twins.  The, can't contain herself grandma to be (my friend from Spain), arrived to be with her daughter yesterday.  The twins will be arriving on Sunday and as we don't know if it's boys, girls or one of each everyone is waiting with baited breath. I'll keep you posted!

Right, onto the reason I came here, my card for today!

Take care if you're out in the wind and I'll see you soon.  I don't know if I'll make it onto the blog tomorrow as I'm taking my aunt to Dalkeith.  The craft place I get my card etc is there and I'm in dire need of supplies.  As always there's a lovely restaurant nearby so that's our plans for Friday.

Red, White and Blue

Hi blogging buddies!
Woopee, the engineer has been and the fridge is fixed so by tomorrow, when it's back up to temperature, I'll be able to stock up.  I really couldn't be bothered having to shop every day but I know lots of people do and in my childhood, everybody had to!

My news from yesterday ... a new tea shop has opened up not too far from where I live and they are opening a craft centre for classes and I've been asked to take a card class.  There's going to be quilting, jewellery, knitting and other hand craft classes during the week and crafty children's parties at the weekend. Sounds so exciting and I wish them all the best.

While the engineer was working away in the kitchen I was upstairs doing another lot of ironing and then had a play in the craftroom.  It's certainly a day for it as his blowing a hoolie and hissing rain ... and that's putting it politely!

My granddaughter is coming for tea so I'm off to make mince and tatties.  The school she goes to is just down the road so it's fine and handy and I'll take her home in the evening.

Before I go, I thought you might like to see the size of the knitting pins I used to knit the bag - it's like knitting with tree trunks!

Enjoy the rest of your day.
Hugs

Oh Happy Day!

Hi everyone!
Hope you are ok and not getting blown away in the strong winds.  Lots of washing flapping away on the lines and not a raindrop in sight!

Housework and a little playing is the order of the day in my little world.  Mr C is working midday to midnight so I can play to my heart's content!  Sorry the photo is a bit wonky.  I can never seem to get my kraft card completely flat and it looks all warped but believe me it's ok in real  life.

Enjoy your evening.  I'm going to watch episode 5 of Broadchurch, I do hope it moves along a bit tonight.  It's one of these programs I can't stop watching even although I think it's been pretty slow.  I hope there is a final conclusion and it doesn't leave you wondering ...

Christmas on Sunday

Happy Sunday!
I've just noticed, only another 50 posts and I've reached 1000!  I've got this post scheduled as I'm meeting my granddaughter for lunch today.  I asked her if she wanted to meet on Monday but she told me she's busy as it's the last day of the Easter holiday!  I don't remember having such a hectic social life when I was 15!

I've three cards to share with you today, part of the 9 I made yesterday!

Enjoy your Sunday.

One Layer

Hello!
I'm a bit late but I've been playing all day in the craftroom.  I've done 9 cards and have thoroughly enjoyed myself.

As always on Saturday it's Less is More and this week the card only has to be one layer ... and I read the instructions properly and did it right first time!  I've also got the cards I made from the kit to show you.

I'm off now to get the knitting pins out again.  See you all tomorrow.

The following cards were all made from The Hobby House Wee Card Kit featuring Spring Bringer and Love Me Do.  The quality was absolutely outstanding and brilliant value.  The kit contained everything from cards, envelopes, papers, die cuts, flowers and cute embellies.  The only thing I had to add of my own was DS tape, glue etc.  I cannot claim to have designed these, I cased them from the inspiration sheet by Hazel Conboy which was brilliant. I am so happy with them and all I've to do now is put inserts in and make up boxes for the ones that are too big for envelopes.  I know The Hobby House are going to do more of these kits so I'll be first in the queue for the next one!

Knitting

Morning all!
Can't believe that the sun is shining.  It started off a bit misty but it's lovely now.  A change of plans for today, I was supposed to be going out with my friend but her granddaughter decided to come to stay so I'm having a crafty day instead.  Mr C finishes work at midday and will be asleep in the afternoon so I'll stay upstairs and keep quiet.

I had a lovely day with my Aunt yesterday.  We started off having lunch and a look around Dobbies at Monifieth then had a wee walk around the shops in Broughty Ferry before having a drive along the seafront.  We are going back when the weather's warmer so we can have a seat outside and an ice cream from Visocchi's!

I didn't venture into the craftroom last night but sat and knitted this little shopping bag instead.  I was thinking of selling them at the school fete I'm going to, what do you think?

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day, I'm off to be crafty.
Hugs

CAS(E)

HI everyone!

Sorry I didn't make it onto the blog yesterday.  The day sped by and I just didn't have enough time.  I was playing in the craftroom with the Wee Cardmaking Kit from The Hobby House.  It is brilliant with enough to make 12 cards and the inspiration to go with it.  As you all know I'm not a bling and flowers person but the embellies in this kit are beautiful and as I'm off to a school fete in June I'm going to put these ones in boxes.  Once I've finished them all I'll let you see them but can only claim to have made them as the designs are copied from the inspiration sheet by Hazel Conboy.  I've done half of them so it may be a few days before I get the others done.

Next, the Kumihimo bracelet was easier to make than say ... once you got started!  Again I'm going to make some of them for the fete as you can rustle them up in no time.  I made mine in black and grey, added a wee heart and, naturally, will give it to my granddaughter when I meet up with her on Sunday.

Kumihimo Bracelet

Lastly here is my make for today.  I've been playing with some of my new stamps.  Before my craft crisis I didn't have that many stamps but have discovered how easy they are to use so am building up my collection little by little.

I don't know if I'll have time to blog tomorrow as it's out with my Aunt day.  We are hoping to have a trip to the seaside (we may never get out of the car!) but there's snow forecast again so we'll have to wait and see.

Enjoy your evening.
Hugs

Happy Birthday

Hello!
The sun is out and it looks nice outside but no doubt will be rather chilly when we venture out later.  Mr C and I are meeting up with friends for a seniors lunch!  Being the big 60 has its advantages!  Tonight my friend and I are going to a bead class and we are making a Kumihimo bracelet.  I'll let you see it tomorrow, even the word sounds complicated.

I've been good this morning, have got started to the ironing pile and stood as long as my back would let me.  Best go and rustle Mr C up.  He's an appointment with the nurse this morning to have his regular BP check and needs to take the dog out before he goes.  All go in our house today!

Enjoy your day.

Tickled Pink

Morning peeps!
Back to winter again ... brrr.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  We enjoyed our time with son and DIL yesterday.  My son had a look at laptops with me and I've ordered a new one.  Can't wait as this one is so slow and some of the keys stick which is really annoying.  Will be on the lookout for Mr Delivery Man later in the week.  I'm off out today with my friend.  I haven't seen her for nearly 8 weeks as she's been stateside on holiday so there will be mega chat!

The card I have to share today was made with one of the new collection from Clearly Besotted.  I followed Stephanie long before she had her company and I love her style.  The collection is all about feathers and they stamp so beautifully.  Hope you like!

Off to get ready for my looooong lunch!

Christmas on Sunday

Morning my faithful followers!
I've got this post scheduled today as we are off to see our son and DIL for lunch and a catch-up.  I'm also going to get my son to help me sus out the best deal on a new computer before this one either dies or goes through the window! I can't complain, I got it to take to Spain when we moved there in 2005 and it's never given me a bit of trouble, it's just old now and too slow to keep up with modern stuff (I know the feeling!)

Anyway Christmas cards today and I've two to share with you.  There are still some Christmas challenges to do so I may have more later in the week.

Enjoy your day and I will be back tomorrow.
Hugs
