MAWTT DT - Birthday Boys

Hi everyone!

This is my very first challenge post for Moving Along with the Times and it was one of my least favourite themes - Boys - chosen by Susan!  Never daunted though, I donned my big girls knickers and put this together.  I was quite pleased with it once I'd faffed about for ages!  The male theme might just get easier in time ... NOT.

Anyway, this post is scheduled today as I'm off to Dundee with my friend and we're meeting up with her sister there.  We are trying our luck at the bingo as the afternoon session's books are free today so any win would be a bonus.

Hi everyone!

I'm not going to say good morning as it's far from that.  Another soaking wet day, I think we'll need to start building an ark!  Best not complain as it could be worse ... it could be snow.  

Nothing much happening in our household today so I suppose I'd better get the iron and hoover out.  I might just get a little play time in the craft room in the afternoon.

Me again.  I made this card the other day when I was playing.  Sometimes when you've finished a card it says 'lovely' to you and this is one of them.  I'm really pleased how this one turned out and it's yet another CAS one!

I'm scheduling this post as Mr C and I have decided we are going out for a seniors lunch.  Great I thought, no cooking today again!  I love eating ... hate cooking.  I'd rather clean or bake any day and since Mr Lottery hasn't decided we're on his list of good causes I can't afford a Michelin Star Chef!

Christmas Cards DT - Anything Goes

Good morning Everyone!

Well, it's not really a good morning as far as the weather goes.  It's absolutely tipping down with rain and there's the odd flake of snow mixed in.  Definitely a day for the craft room.  UPDATE : 1040 GMT it's now snowing!

I forgot to tell you the other day that I was at the hospital to get my hearing aid.  Wow, I'm hearing things that I haven't heard for ages and what a difference that makes.  I certainly proved its worth yesterday when I was out with my friend.  She has a very soft voice and I used to struggle to hear what she was saying but yesterday all was good.  It is so small and light I don't even feel I'm wearing it.  Maybe I should have done it ages ago but hey, ho, it's done now!

The pair of us ended up at Doune Antique Centre.  It's a fabulous place to spend an hour or two reminiscing over the stuff our parents' had (and thrown out) and of course there's a lovely restaurant there where we had lunch.

Ooops, I can't believe another week has gone and I haven't lived up to my own resolution of posting more often!  I just never seem to have long enough to sit down in the craft room and actually create.  Once I've popped onto my favourite blogs (and got sidetracked of course!) I've run out of time.  Maybe next week will be more productive.

Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you're up to.  Our granddaughter stayed over last night so I'll drop her off at her Saturday job then I'm meeting my friend for lunch ... no wonder I never have time, I never seem to be at home.

Hi, it's me again ... twice in one day!

I have some exciting news.  I was asked to join the Design Team at Moving Along with the Times.  Of course, no hesitation, I said YES!  My first challenge with them will be on 30 January and I've already got my card prepared!  Wish I was always so organised.

I've also got a card to share for Less is More.  I always try to take part as I love CAS.

Off now to have a tidy up so that I can be ready, with my feet up, for Dancing on Ice.  Why does Sunday night have too many good things on at once and Saturday (in my opinion) is absolute rubbish.  I'll need to get the link set up to record some of the programs.

(1) Woopee, Mr Blogger is behaving himself today and I've managed to upload the card I wanted to show yesterday.

(2) the Holly Jolly Challenge blog has been rebuilt by our fabulous Cindy and this week's challenge will go live at 1700 GMT (1200 EST).  There is a new blog address so if you click on the link here you'll be taken to the new blog so you can save it.  Hope you'll join in later today.

I survived the MRI scan and have to say it wasn't as bad as I'd envisaged!  I can't say I liked it but it was a case of needs must and thankfully behind me now.  Off to have brekkie and maybe get the ironing board out.  I'm meeting my cousin for lunch as I haven't seen her since New Year so no doubt there'll be plenty to chat about.

Hello one and all!

Thank goodness I scheduled my post on Sunday as I did indeed have a lie in.  Mr C and I were out on Saturday night for a meal and catch up with his cousins and didn't get home until half one in the morning (I don't usually go out when it's dark o'clock!).  The cousins have a get-together every six months and what a brilliant night we had, lovely hotel, lovely meal and lots of chat.  At the next one we're celebrating one of his cousins' Golden Wedding so that's something to look forward to, and a new outfit to boot!

Tuesday is usually the Holly Jolly challenge but some "bandit" hacked the challenge coordinator's email and also the Holly Jolly blog so until the mess is sorted out the challenges, unfortunately, have had to be been put on hold.  I just don't understand what people get out of such mindless acts of vandalism ... but ... we will overcome.

Today I'm off for an MRI scan to see what's going on in my ears as my hearing in one ear is very poor.  This isn't a new thing, I've been like that for years as when I was a child I had real problems in my ears and my left one especially is 'very traumatised'.   I decided it was time to do something about it as I'm particularly disadvantaged when I'm in company and also Mr C has to put up with the TV being much louder than he needs but now I wish I'd never started the process as I'm really not looking forward to the scan but I'm sure I'll survive.

Off now to put on my big girl knickers, grit my teeth and get on with it.

I made this card yesterday for Crafty Hazelnut's challenge.  I got this image from the lovely Lori as a freebie and think it's so cute.

Life has returned to its normal routine and today I'm off out with my friend to Glendoick Garden Centre for a senior lunch.  It will be nice to catch up with her too and of course we can have a wee look round and see if there's any bargains in the sale!

Hi everyone!

Another miserable day but I have to say I'm so thankful we will never be flooded as we live at the top of a hill.  It would have to be rain of biblical proportions, and everyone else would be in the ark!  Having experienced flooding in our town in 1993 my heart goes out to everyone going through these difficult times.

I've been having a bit of a play this morning and getting on with lots of DT work so that I'm ahead of the game.  Let's hope it stays that way for the rest of the year!

Christmas Card DT - No Colouring

Hello!

Sunday again so that means the first Christmas Card Challenge of 2014.  Now this one is called No Colouring and I've interpreted it in that, the image IS coloured but it wasn't done by me.  It's was bought pre-coloured so I think that counts!

My friend and I went to House of Bruar yesterday, had a lovely lunch and a browse round but neither of us bought anything.  I think the shops are all pretty sad in January, a bit depleted after Christmas and by now it's just the dregs that's left in the sales.  Roll on the new Spring collections!

I'm hoping it stays fairly dry today as I was contemplating popping into town this afternoon to return a couple of things to M&S.  Fingers crossed.

Hello!

Hope you are all managing to stay dry and safe.  What awful weather we've had for the start of 2014.  I hope this is not the shape of things to come.

I am going to try to get back to blogging on a regular basis but am not getting myself into a position that I'm getting stressed about it as that isn't conducive to enjoyable crafting.  I just wish I had an outlet for my creations as I feel it's such a waste making loads of cards and not doing anything with them.  Tell me what you do with yours!

On now to the first Suzy Bee challenge of the year.  I've just done a clean and simple one but this year I'm going to try to be a bit more adventurous ... maybe!
