Still No Crafting!

Hi peeps!
Still no crafting done, the spirit is willing but the body is just plain lazy after the bug both Mr C and I have had.  Our granddaughter is still with us, turns out she had tonsillitis, but is definitely on the mend again thanks to Mr Penicillin!  She's almost back to her cheeky self and will be going home tomorrow when her Mum is finished work.

Our lovely Postie delivered a parcel this morning - my prize for winning My Fav 5 Christmas Cards.  Wow, thanks so much Debby.  Lots of wonderful goodies and I'm really looking forward to getting started crafting again with these little beauties when my mojo kicks in again.

Hopefully I will be back soon with a crafty delight!!!

Catch Up

Hi!  This post has been scheduled as I'm off to Register House in Edinburgh with 3 friends.  We are all researching our respective family trees and try to go about once a month.  It's so interesting and, so far, I've not discovered any skeletons in the cupboard but you never know!

I'm still trying to play catch up and this card is for Sundays with Santa Layers challenge.

Been Playing

Hi peeps!  I managed to have a play in the newly tidied craft room this afternoon.  My mojo's very rusty but I plodded on and managed to complete 3 challenges for Sunday with Santa in an effort to catch up.

One of the girls my daughter works with is having a birthday at the end of next week and she asked me to make a card for the folk at work to give to her with her pressie.  You'll have to wait till tomorrow to see it!

I'm also hoping I'll have time tomorrow to make some more cards but if the weather's good Mr C and I may have a day out and spend some time together without a paint brush etc in our hands!

Here are the Christmas projects I made today ... hope you like.

Funny!

Hi! I'm here again with my card for the Christmas Card Club.  The theme this fortnight was chosen by Sue and she's asked us to make a humorous card.

I'm about to go and rescue my washing.  I hung bedding out about an hour ago and there was blue sky, sunshine and a fine wind ... now it's raining ... grrrrrrrrrrr!

O Christmas Tree

Sunday once again and it's time for Sundays with Santa on Facebook.  Another week has whizzed round and I can't say that it feels like summer.  The rain has been non-stop and the place is saturated.  Maybe next week it will be better!

The challenge this week was Favourite Things and my favs are ribbon and card candi.  Unfortunately I had to take this piccie in a poor light and the ribbon doesn't show up to well.

It's going to be a housework day today so best get a wriggle on.  Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

New CD!

Howdy all my blogging friends!  What a gorgeous day, it's dry AND warm AND sunny!  Don't know how long it will last if the forecast is anything to go by but I'm enjoying it for now.

Mr Postie brought me a little parcel this morning, the new Crafters Companion CD called Mulberry Wood.  It's a Christmas one and I just love the artwork.  I've got peace just now, Mr C is asleep as he's on nightshift, daughter is at work and granddaughter is in town so I thought I'd have a sneaky 5 minutes crafting before getting the iron out then make macaroni cheese for tea.  I'm playing catch up as this card is for last week's Sunday with Santa challenge.

Hope you all have some sunshine to enjoy today.

Blue Santa

Another Sunday and today I've got a card for the fortnightly Christmas Card Club.  It was the turn of Chris to choose the theme and she decided on Blue Santa.  Unfortunately the picture I chose doesn't show up too well on the computer but I can assure you that Santa is dressed in blue ... honest!

My card for Sundays with Santa is still in my head but hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to get it done so I don't fall behind again.  I'm am behind with my DT card for the Cupcake Craftroom though, I'd better watch out or I'll be getting the sack!

Mr C and I had a wonderful time at the BBQ yesterday.  There were one or two little showers but between a couple of gazeboes and the conservatory we all managed to keep dry.  There was lots of fabby food, burgers, sausages, chicken and steaks came off the barbie and there was also a table laden with every type of salad you could think of.  For afters there was fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with meringue, ice cream and cream or there was trifle.  Very enjoyable and because it was the weekend - no calories!

Hope you've all had a great day.  I'm just off to bed shortly as it was a late night last night and I'm up early in the morning as I've to go for a hearing test.  Will keep you posted on that one!

Playing Catch Up

Hi folks. I'm not a very good blogger just now as I'm struggling with time and space!  I've got the afternoon to myself as Mr C is working, my daughter is shopping then meeting a friend for tea and my granddaughter is with friends for the day.  The girls will be home soon though so peace will no longer reign!

I thought I'd play catch up today as I haven't done my card for Sundays with Santa for the last three weeks.  Here are my creations.

Hope you are all well.  I do try to look at everyone's blogs during the week but don't always have time to comment, sorry :(

Ribbon Tree

Morning folks!  It's time for Christmas Card Club today so that's another fortnight sped past.  It was my turn to choose the theme for today's challenge so of course I chose Clean & Simple.  I love this style and hope I've done it justice with this card.

If you would like to join our select group of ladies who like to get ahead with their Christmas cards, please get in touch with any of us on the list on my sidebar, you'd be most welcome.

Skiing Snowman

Hi, me again!  Two posts today, this one being for Sundays with Santa on Facebook.  Our theme this week is Sport so my little snowman is skiing his way downhill.

I was really lucky recently when Ellison had a sale which included Sizzix embossing folders.  I've seen the criss cross one on Debby's blog and she said it was discontinued (rats, I thought) so I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in the sale!  Wow, my fingers were red hot ordering it before it was out of stock!!!  As always, something else had to fall into the basket and it was the other embossing folder I've used on this card.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the Jubilee weekend.
Hugs

PS - apologies for poor picture quality, can never get white card to look right and I had to use my home made light box which obviously isn't working too well!

Merry Christmas

Morning all!  It's Sunday again and time for another challenge at the Christmas Card Club.  Lorraine has set the task this week and we have to use a sentiment as the main focal point on the card.  As I was a numpty and made the wrong card in the first instance this one was a real quickie and it's turned out better than I expected!

For a Little One

Morning peeps! What a gorgeous morning again, in fact it's been a fantastic week but according to Mr Forecast it's to get cooler again come Tuesday so best make the most of today and tomorrow.

I've been MIA a lot again and will be for a while yet.  Our daughter, her partner and our granddaughter moved into ours yesterday as the lease was up on the house they were in and they haven't been able to find anything suitable and at a reasonable price.  Unfortunately landlords are taking advantage of the lack of council housing for the young ones and the last landlord they had was just a nightmare.  There were quite a few things on her 'to do' list when they moved in a year ago and they're still waiting to be done ... but that's another story!

Anyway, today being Sunday is Sundays with Santa on Facebook and our challenge this week is to make a card for a child.  You'll never believe that already I've been able to tick off everyone on my handcrafted Christmas card list so I'm now onto making cards for my Aunt.  Can you see my halo shining?  I have to admit it's a great feeling.

Off now to make the most of the sun and I hope you have a lovely day too.

Hi! Me again.  So much for getting on with the housework, I'm still sitting in the craftroom.  This card is for Sundays with Santa on Facebook and we were asked to make something depicting Travel.  I think my sledging penguin fits the bill.

Must go and get on now.

Morning one and all!  After all the upheaval this week I hadn't even thought about the challenge for the Christmas Card Club today so I got up bright and early and here's my creation.  The theme this week is Aperture and was chosen by Zoe.

More tidying up to get on with today and I might even get the iron out.  Our pooch has been at our daughter's all week so Mr C is going to collect her later today and our home will be complete again.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday

christmas birthday

Hi!  Another Sunday and time for Sunday with Santa on Facebook.  This week it's a Christmas birthday card which is great as it's my cousin's birthday on Christmas day!  As we are a small family she has always had Christmas in the morning and birthday in the afternoon - a double whammy!

My croaky throat turned into a full blown cold and I've been feeling miserable.  Not to worry, if that's all I have to moan about I'm very thankful.

Our new kitchen was delivered at 9am on Friday morning ... aaah!  It was stowed in the garage in readiness for the fitters coming tomorrow.  I really can't wait as I HATE MESS!!!  The curtain twitchers would be wondering what an artic lorry was doing in our street. I didn't envy the driver as our street isn't the biggest but he managed, oh if I was only 20 years younger I'd love to be able to drive one of them.

Yesterday I emptied all the kitchen cupboards and threw out some things that have been lurking there for too many years.  All we've to do today is get the dishwasher dismantled as our son and DIL are getting it as we're having a new slimline one.  The pair of them were at a wedding in the borders yesterday and are calling in on their way home to pick it up.  We're going to go out and have tea with them too.

As for the kitchen ... I'll keep you posted with piccies.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

A Meeting of Christmas Blogs

Hi! Another busy week but I've managed to catch up with blogging friends and make a couple of cards.  This is just a quick post as I'm off to the SECC in Glasgow with a couple of friends to see Dancing on Ice.  We're going to the afternoon show (cos we're not allowed out when it's dark o'clock) so are having lunch beforehand.  Mr C, our daughter, SIL & granddaughter are off to see our son and DIL.  They had a pool table delivered the other day and it's too heavy for the pair of them to carry downstairs to the games room so extra hands are needed, it's all go!

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Tight Squeeze

Another Sunday has come round so quickly and it's time again for Sunday with Santa on Facebook.  The subject this week is Humour and I hope I've captured that.

I made myself a light box last weekend using a white cardboard box that I picked up in the supermarket.  I can't say the photos are brilliant (operator error) but at least there's no shadows.

I've an appointment with the optician at 11 to sign up for my contacts then Mr C and I are off to Homebase to collect the wall tiles we've ordered for the kitchen, all 32 packs of them!  Mr C is so glad he's not having the put them up!

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you're up to.

catch up

Hi peeps!  Last week was totally manic, I was doing something every day and didn't have time for crafting, blogging or commenting so a big sorry to all.  Hopefully this week will be quieter although, somehow, I doubt it!

I visited my aunt on Monday, Wednesday and Friday as my cousin was away on holiday.  It's never a chore to visit her as she's full of beans and always ready to go out in the car with lunch or a cuppa somewhere along the line!  At 83 she's marvellous as she's always in pain and seems to have every illness under the sun.  Tuesday I met a friend from Spain, Thursday was class then lunch with a friend, Saturday my friend and I went to Edinburgh to the Sincerely-Yours craft fair and finally on Sunday I caught up with Mr C and we went shopping for tiles and flooring ... woopee I hear you say!  We are having a new kitchen installed next month and we needed to get wood for the floor and find tiles we both liked as we're having the whole kitchen tiled this time so there'll be no more faffing about with wallpaper.

I HAVE to get working today as I'm ashamed of the house.  I still haven't tackled the ironing mountain so some of that's on the agenda today as well.

Lastly I've a couple of Christmas challenges to share with you.  They were actually due yesterday but, well you know why I'm late.  I did contemplate not bothering with them this week but that's the slippery slope and I promised myself I'd have a box of Christmas cards ready and waiting for the big day.

Have a good day whatever you're doing and I will catch up with you all again soon.
Hugs
Anne x

These cards are for the Christmas Card Club challenge.  The theme, chosen by Clare, is Anything But A Card, so I've made a set of cards!  The Christmas Card Club is a group of crafters who want to be organised by the end of the year.  We make a card every fortnight and if you'd like to join in all the names are on my sidebar.

Family Christmas

Hello folks!  I can't believe that it's Sunday again and time for another Sunday with Santa challenge on Facebook.  The theme this week is Family and I think this lovely image fits the bill perfectly.

I've got ironing (a veritable mountain of the stuff) to do today but I'm hoping to spend the afternoon in the craftroom as Mr C is working midday to midnight and I can get my head down with no distractions.  I've got a stall at one of the local companies in June and really need to get stocks built up.

I hope you all have a lovely day.
