Christmas Card DT - Buttons & Twine

Ooooh, I'm late on the go today.  The craft room has been super busy most of the week (next post you'll see why).

This is my last challenge with the Christmas Card girls.  I've decided to step down from all of my DTs as I just don't have the time to spend on card making.

The family had the most wonderful day out at The Scottish Cup Final in Glasgow yesterday and it was made even more enjoyable as our team won ... the first time in their 130 year history that they've made it to the cup and they won!  Woopee!!!

Sunday again, the weeks are passing by at an alarming rate!  It was a lovely day yesterday in my little corner of the world and after getting caught up with the housework and ironing Mr C and I spent the afternoon in the garden.  The grass is growing like wildfire ... as are the weeds!  The garden is looking good again, it just takes a wee while to lick it into shape after winter.  

It's time for another Christmas Card challenge and this time there's to be no embellies.  Now even for me, the clean and simple type, that's quite difficult but I think I've nailed it with this card.

I have a voucher for Afternoon Tea at one of the local restaurants and thought Mr C would come with me this afternoon but he said he'd rather not as all the sandwiches would have lettuce on them and it's something he just hates!  Instead my pal and I are going so I'm off now to get organised.

Mr C is doing an extra shift today, starting at 0800 so I'm going to have a crafty day as he's not finished until 1600.  If my bestest buddie's hubby is watching footie or rugby on TV this afternoon she's going to pop in to make some jewellery with me ... and have a natter and a cuppa!!!

Another week has sped by and nothing done!!!  Going to have a day in the craft room today as Mr C and I are off on our travels again at the end of the week so I'll need to try to be organised.

Our theme at Christmas Card Challenges today is to use your favourite colouring medium and mine is using my Promarkers.  I don't have that many and I'm not particularly good at colouring and shading but I try!

I'd an afternoon playing in the craftroom yesterday and caught up with recorded programs on TV at night.  Don't know what Mr C and I are going to be up to today, he's talking about a new car but then he's been talking about it for months!!!

I'd a busy day yesterday, got all the housework done in the morning and played in the craft room in the afternoon so that Mr C could get quietness to sleep.  All went according to plan ... for a change!

We're not sure what we're going to be up to today but we might go to see our son and DIL and pick up some logs for the fire.  Our son has three woodsheds full of wood so I think he can spare some!

Morning!

When I look out of one window we've lovely blue skies and out the one at other end of the house it's black as night.  Goodness knows what that black sky holds but it looks ominous.  It's blowing a hoolie too.

Unfortunately son and DIL were both beaten in their badminton matches yesterday but weren't too downhearted.  Son and his partner were playing the World No 2 and I'm not too sure about DIL but they were definitely world ranked!  Breakfast has been had and the pair of them are away back to the sports centre to watch the finals then back to Glasgow to play a club match tonight ... oh to be young again!

Mr C and I are meeting our granddaughter in a while and will go off somewhere with her.  I think we might take a trip along to Dundee and have lunch there.  Time will tell.

It's Sunday and time for the latest Christmas Card challenge which is make a Tag.  To be honest it's not something I ever think of doing at Christmas as I like to buy tags that match the wrapping paper ... OCD kicks in!

Right, I'd better get a wriggle on now that I'm going out in the afternoon, I was going to have a pj day until granddaughter decided otherwise!  It's lovely when she texts and asks if I want to meet her for coffee ... she'll be 16 next month ... where have the years gone?

Good morning Everyone!

Well, it's not really a good morning as far as the weather goes.  It's absolutely tipping down with rain and there's the odd flake of snow mixed in.  Definitely a day for the craft room.  UPDATE : 1040 GMT it's now snowing!

I forgot to tell you the other day that I was at the hospital to get my hearing aid.  Wow, I'm hearing things that I haven't heard for ages and what a difference that makes.  I certainly proved its worth yesterday when I was out with my friend.  She has a very soft voice and I used to struggle to hear what she was saying but yesterday all was good.  It is so small and light I don't even feel I'm wearing it.  Maybe I should have done it ages ago but hey, ho, it's done now!

The pair of us ended up at Doune Antique Centre.  It's a fabulous place to spend an hour or two reminiscing over the stuff our parents' had (and thrown out) and of course there's a lovely restaurant there where we had lunch.

Hello!

Sunday again so that means the first Christmas Card Challenge of 2014.  Now this one is called No Colouring and I've interpreted it in that, the image IS coloured but it wasn't done by me.  It's was bought pre-coloured so I think that counts!

My friend and I went to House of Bruar yesterday, had a lovely lunch and a browse round but neither of us bought anything.  I think the shops are all pretty sad in January, a bit depleted after Christmas and by now it's just the dregs that's left in the sales.  Roll on the new Spring collections!

I'm hoping it stays fairly dry today as I was contemplating popping into town this afternoon to return a couple of things to M&S.  Fingers crossed.

Hi peeps!

What a beautiful morning, sun shining and there's no wind ... at the moment, but according to the forecast all that will change tonight again and it's back to gales and lashing rain.

Mr C and I were supposed to be going to a wedding reception in Edinburgh tonight but unfortunately we've had to cancel.  I'm totally washed out by evening time with the after effects of the virus so there's no point in being silly but we are so disappointed we're missing it.  It's my birthday today so Mr C is going to take me out for lunch instead.

Our sortie into town yesterday afternoon was a non event.  All the shops have sales on but nothing we wanted, in fact some of the shops had goods we'd never even seen before!  I've still got my pennies safely tucked up in my purse and one day I will see exactly what I'm looking for.

Hi folks!

Christmas is creeping up fast, only 3 more sleeps.  I hope you are organised and not stressing too much.  I've only got some veg to get and I'm organised.  The turkey and gammon is cooked, sliced and in the freezer as is the gravy, pigs in blankets and stuffing.  My daughter is bringing soup and my daughter-in-law is bringing dessert ... sorted!

The lurgy is slowly disappearing, thank goodness, I'm really getting fed up of it now!  I do hope that any of you who are feeling poorly get well soon.  There are so many viruses going around just now and it's little wonder mind you, the weather is so awful.
