MAWTT DT - Make and Decorate a Box

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all well this morning and enjoying the better weather we are having. Another lovely start to the day here so let's just hope it lasts!

Yesterday when I went out to the car to go to visit my friend I'd a flat tyre.  As it was such a beautiful day I decided to walk and Mr C came to pick me up and, of course, he changed my tyre for me.  I'll need to pay a visit to the garage today to get another one sorted out though.  I'll do some shopping in town if I need to wait for it being done.

After I've been to the garage I'm meeting my cuz for lunch and daughter and granddaughter are popping in for tea.  I'll get caught up on all their latest happenings.  Daughter has got a new job, where she works just now but a step up and she's to be told her start date today so she'll be mega excited and I probably won't get a word in edgeways!  Granddaughter was at the cinema last night with her pal to see the Lego Movie so I've no doubt I'll be hearing about that too.  I tell you, she's got a better social life than the rest of us put together!  

Best get a wriggle on now.  See you again soon.

Congrats!

Hi all!

What you up to today?  I'm off to Dundee with my granddaughter, she's off school as there are 'in service' days.  It won't matter what the weather is doing as we'll be in the shopping centre!  I'd a good natter with my cuz yesterday and we put the world to rights over lunch.  

This card looks all lopsided because I didn't cut the image square (on purpose!) and I feel it looks awful on the photo but I have to say it's fine in real life ... you'll just have to take my word for it!!!

Hello!

Another day in Paradise ... NOT!  I was supposed to be going to Edinburgh with one of my friends.  She's never been to see the Royal Yacht Britannia so we decided we were visiting it today.  Yesterday afternoon there was snow and more during the night and it froze so the place was like a skating rink first thing so we've put that off for another day although we are going out for lunch locally.  I then got a phone call from my daughter to say she'd just been to A&E and she's broken her wrist ... again. That's the fourth time in the same place in the last 6 years!  She said she slipped while getting out of her car at work.  She said that, thankfully, this time they didn't put a cast on, that appears to be old hat now, so she's back at work with a splint on it.

I'm a bit later again today cos I met my granddaughter in town for lunch.  She'd a few things to get before going back to school next week.  We had a lovely afternoon with warm sunshine again.

I'm trying to keep quiet as Mr C is sleeping as he's on night shift just now.  Tonight's his last night and he's usually a bit grumpy by now!

Going Round in Circles

Hi everyone!

Hope you've enjoyed your long weekend.  Every weekend's a long weekend for me and I love it.  I love not working and being able to do so many things I didn't have time for when I worked.

It's been a busy day today.  Mr C and I went out for lunch and when we came home he got the lawnmower out and I got the hoover and duster out!  The grass had really grown these past few days between a bit of warmth and plenty rain.  The trees are beginning to get their green coats too so the world is a brighter place even if Mr Sunshine doesn't want to show his face.

I haven't had time to play in the craftroom today but here's a card I made the other day.

Mum to Be

Hello!

I'm running a bit late tonight as I was watching TV!  I was out with a school chum today and we ventured north to Grandtully to The Highland Chocolatier.  I can't believe I'd never heard of it before, let alone been there.  Awesome is the only word I can use to describe it.  You see the choccies being made and readied to be despatched to the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Claridges and Harvey Nics to name but a few so we are talking seriously wonderful stuff.  My dear friend bought me a cone of white chocolate buttons which I'm going to savour.  You will know by now that there would be an eaterie attached which was as delicious as the chocolates.  All in all it was a lovely day out, the sun was shining, it was warm (inside the car) and the scenery beautiful.  I can't believe how late everything is this year, only one more day until May and the trees are just beginning to spring to life.

Anyway, enough waffle for now and onto my card for today.  My daughter asked me to make this card for her department to give to one of their colleagues who is leaving to have a baby.  She knows it's going to be a boy which is why I've made it on the blue tones.  Hope you like!

Welcome to my new followers, Pauline, Christine and Carole Ann.  I hope you enjoy my following my creations and I appreciate any comments you leave.

I've seen a few cards around blogland using the technique I've used here. They looked so classy (and difficult) and I'd no idea where to start.  I went onto the Splitcoaststampers website to see if I could find how to do this and, sure enough, there was a tutorial, and when I read it I couldn't believe how simple it was to achieve such a stunning effect.  If you want to try it out, just follow this link.  

Sorry this card looks a bit wonky, camera operator error!  It is straight in real life, honest!

Pretty cold and grey here in the East of Scotland but hey 14 sleeps and I'm off to Spain with Mr C for 3 weeks.  Can't wait to get some sunshine and see all the friends we made when we lived there.  I've already started getting stuff looked out that I'm going to take with me.  I won't be taking any craft stuff as I'll be going to card class while I'm there and June will provide me with goodies to make a few bits and pieces.  I started the class and June happily took over when we decided to come home.  I have got my knitting pins looked out though and Mr Postie brought me a lovely parcel of baby wool yesterday so I'm going to be busy again.

That's Mr C on his week off now and his first task is to take his car to the garage.  There's something wrong with the electrics and his dashboard is like Blackpool illuminations at times!

Special Friend

Hi!  What a beautiful morning it is here.  Everywhere is white and sparkly with frost but the sun is shining and it's warm in the craft room!  Mr C has been in bed since Sunday with a fluey kind of thing but is feeling a bit better today.  He really must be feeling awful as he is NEVER off work, thankfully.  I'm having another day in the craft room as I've several birthday cards to do for March and as we are away then I'll need to get organised.  The card this friend is for is the one I go on most of my jaunts with.  She is soon off to America for 6 weeks and is spending her birthday this year at Florida Keys.  Her card is made but I don't have a pressie yet ... I'm doing that tomorrow but need inspiration!

Before I go any further with this post I want to say sorry for the rotten photo.  I hate having to take photos in artificial light as I never seem to get them clean and sharp and there never seems to be enough daylight just now anyway.  Been in Livingston today with my daughter who was doing her Christmas shopping as she's on holiday.  She was very lucky as she got nearly everything she wanted - and didn't pay the full price for anything!!!  

It's got quite cold here tonight and the wind is blowing a hoolie.  Once I've done this I'm cooking tea, getting the wood burner going, tv on, knitting out and feet up!  Poor Mr C, he's working!  Hugs x

I'm definitely not 'normal' today - I cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor.  I nearly had to go and lie down in a darkened room.  Mr C is outside cutting the grass while it's dry.  He's on holiday for a couple of weeks and we're off to Wales for 3 days next week on a doggy training exercise - don't ask!  Not my idea :)

Father's Day

I've had a lovely day today.  My friends and I went to the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh to the Artstamps Scotland Fair.  Needless to say there was much talking, laughing and spending!  Since getting home I've been making Father's Day cards as I've got a stall at Kinross Primary School fete on Saturday.  I'm looking forward to that as we lived in Kinross (many moons ago!) and our son and daughter went to school there.  Here are some of the cards I've made.

Oooooops, I got a very nice ticking off from Mandi at Less is More - and rightly so!  I wish I'd read what's on the page and not what I think it should be then I'd get things correct!  The challenge was not only to use a Sentiment but also it was to be One Layer only.  When I read the comment I popped back to the craft room and did a card that goes by the rules!
