After I had posted this card I looked at it and thought it was a bit bare so, back to the desk, I made another one, this time adding some flourishes. I think it looks better now! It's my DIL's birthday tomorrow, and as I haven't yet made a card for her, I'm going to use this one as she's a very minimalist person so I hope she likes it.

I prefer the one with the flourish too as without any texture the first one looks a trifle flat.
Having said that I think that the second one would be fine without the corner flourish, although it looks fab as it is! I'm sure your DIL will be thrilled with it.

I love the one with the flourish beneath the embellishment. It's really lovely, but I think it would be a perfect fit for the "off centre" theme without the corner embellishment! What do you think?
