You're A Star

Morning all!

Wow, the sun has got his hat on .....!  Only thing is, I wonder how long it will last as every day there seems to be rain at some point.  Our local amateur weather forecaster is predicting warmer weather come the weekend so fingers crossed, he's usually right on the button.

I made this card yesterday.  I had a star design in my head but when I was cutting the stars out they sort of fell onto the card and another idea was born ... and it was better than the first one I had.  I hope you like it.

Off now to get Mr C's food bag ready as he's working midday to midnight and needs lunch and tea.  I'll need to pay a visit to Messrs M&S later or he'll not get any food tomorrow!

Aw Baby!

Morning all!

What a fabulous day I had with my granddaughter yesterday.  It's a pleasure to go out with her as she's such good company and what fun we had!  The shops were quite quiet so we managed to have a good browse and we did buy a few things.  I was very generous too ... I took scones home for Mr C!!!

Today is Friday again and it's my day for going out with my Aunt.  I don't know where we will end up, time will tell!  I don't know if she will want to go shopping or just for a run somewhere and a stop for lunch, she is just happy to get out of the house and a good natter into the bargain.

Hi all!

What you up to today?  I'm off to Dundee with my granddaughter, she's off school as there are 'in service' days.  It won't matter what the weather is doing as we'll be in the shopping centre!  I'd a good natter with my cuz yesterday and we put the world to rights over lunch.  

This card looks all lopsided because I didn't cut the image square (on purpose!) and I feel it looks awful on the photo but I have to say it's fine in real life ... you'll just have to take my word for it!!!

Hello!

Another day in Paradise ... NOT!  I was supposed to be going to Edinburgh with one of my friends.  She's never been to see the Royal Yacht Britannia so we decided we were visiting it today.  Yesterday afternoon there was snow and more during the night and it froze so the place was like a skating rink first thing so we've put that off for another day although we are going out for lunch locally.  I then got a phone call from my daughter to say she'd just been to A&E and she's broken her wrist ... again. That's the fourth time in the same place in the last 6 years!  She said she slipped while getting out of her car at work.  She said that, thankfully, this time they didn't put a cast on, that appears to be old hat now, so she's back at work with a splint on it.

Golf Time

Hi friends!

Back again ... twice in one day!  What a lovely day Mr C and I ended up having yesterday.  We went out to lunch with friends as it was their wedding anniversary.  We had a lovely meal and spent the rest of the afternoon chatting, couldn't ask for better.  The 'boys' play golf together so this card is very apt as they were doing a lot of golfing talk!

Mr C is away for the next couple of days so I'm chief dog walker ... and the weather is awful, I hate walking in the rain, worse still ... snow!  Daughter and Granddaughter are popping in for tea tonight so I'd better get a wriggle on.  See you soon.

Morning all!

Don't know where this week has gone, I've been busy all week and blogging hasn't been on the agenda!  I was out yesterday with my Aunt as I usually am on a Friday and guess what ... we had SUNSHINE!  Wow, what a beautiful day.  Unfortunately it's back to normal again today, dreich is the only word I can use to describe it. (For my non Scottish friends that means grey, miserable, damp and generally horrid!)

My best bud is off to America next weekend for 6 weeks so we're meeting up today as she'll be busy getting ready next week.  Oooh, what will I do when she's away, nobody to lead me astray!  I might actually get down to some serious crafting.

New Beginnings

Hi everyone!

A lovely day was had with my friend yesterday.  We went along to Glendoick Garden centre for their Tuesday seniors' lunch, oooh it was yummy and excellent value.  My friend had broccoli soup and fish & chips and I had haggis, neeps & tatties then Crannachan cheesecake!

Today I'm off to Livingston.  One of my buddies is there just now looking after her granddaughter so we're meeting up while the young one is at school.  We are also meeting up with Mr C's cousin who is also a friend of my friend ... small world eh!  I've no doubt there will be lots of chatting done.

This was another of the cards I made on Sunday.  I just love these Lili of the Valley toppers, they are so sweet and easy to make a card with.

Washing all nicely dried yesterday while I was out with my friend.  We'd a lovely lunch then a walk through the wood.  I couldn't believe how warm it was again but if Mr Weatherman is to be believed temperatures are due to plummet at the weekend ... oooooh, I haven't had a jacket on for weeks!

I'm having a day in the craft room doing some sorting of the cards I've already made.  Hopefully I'm going to have a stall end of November or beginning of December so I'd better get organised as time seems to pass so quickly!

I'm a bit later again today cos I met my granddaughter in town for lunch.  She'd a few things to get before going back to school next week.  We had a lovely afternoon with warm sunshine again.

I'm trying to keep quiet as Mr C is sleeping as he's on night shift just now.  Tonight's his last night and he's usually a bit grumpy by now!

Hello!

Sorry I had no post yesterday but time just wasn't on my side.  I'd to go to Edinburgh Airport to pick up my daughter, granddaughter and their friends as they were coming back from their holiday.  I can't believe that the week sped by so quickly but they all had a fabulous time so that was the main thing.

The day before, my friend and I ended up in Haddington at a bead and wool shop ... heaven!  I bought beads and made this bracelet.  I also bought some wool to do some Christmas knitting.

Today I'm meeting my cuz for lunch and as I'm still sitting here in my pjs I'd better get this posted and jump into the shower.  Mr Sunshine is a bit reluctant to show his face today but it doesn't seem to be cold.  As long as there's no rain I'm a happy bunny.

Evening all!

It's been another busy old day and I'm chasing my tail again!  What a beautiful day it's been and no cold wind for a change.  I was up with the lark this morning, into town for shopping and bits and pieces and home again by 11 o'clock!  The rest of the day has been spent crafting, jewellery making and my most hated of all jobs, cooking!

I've been having a good old rant tonight.  God bless one of my blogging buddies cos she had to listen to it.  Thank you, you know who you are!  To summarise : I placed a crafty order 11 weeks ago and still haven't received it.  I'm saying no more about it at the moment until I see what the reply to my email is but if I don't get any satisfaction, I'm naming and shaming.  I really hate shoddy customer service and I have to say, it's very very rare in the craft world.  Parcels are usually popping through my door almost as soon as I've placed the order.

Anyway, rant over so I'd better show you one of the creations I've made today.

Hi everyone!

I never got around to blogging yesterday again as I was out most of the day with my friend and in the evening I was watching TV and knitting!  Never a dull moment in my life.  Anyway, today Mr C is sleeping as he was on the midnight to midday shift so I am upstairs in the craftroom this afternoon.  

My new computer is still getting on my nerves but I'm beginning to get the better of it.  My biggest problem is Epson doesn't have a driver for my all-in-one printer that works with Windows 8.  I tried downloading the drivers for Windows 7 but to no avail so my techy guru (son!!!) is on the case as I don't want to have to buy a new printer.  My printer is working but I can't change the print quality etc which is a real pain in the proverbial.  

At long last I've actually made a card though!  This is one for our friends whose daughter recently had the twins.  I'm going to wrap it in tissue and pop it in an envelope box as it's going all the way to Spain.

I'm off now to make dinner but will probably be back later as there's nothing worth watching on TV tonight ... blasted footie again!

Hi blogging buddies!

Woopee, the engineer has been and the fridge is fixed so by tomorrow, when it's back up to temperature, I'll be able to stock up.  I really couldn't be bothered having to shop every day but I know lots of people do and in my childhood, everybody had to!  

My news from yesterday ... a new tea shop has opened up not too far from where I live and they are opening a craft centre for classes and I've been asked to take a card class.  There's going to be quilting, jewellery, knitting and other hand craft classes during the week and crafty children's parties at the weekend. Sounds so exciting and I wish them all the best.

While the engineer was working away in the kitchen I was upstairs doing another lot of ironing and then had a play in the craftroom.  It's certainly a day for it as his blowing a hoolie and hissing rain ... and that's putting it politely!

My granddaughter is coming for tea so I'm off to make mince and tatties.  The school she goes to is just down the road so it's fine and handy and I'll take her home in the evening.

Before I go, I thought you might like to see the size of the knitting pins I used to knit the bag - it's like knitting with tree trunks!

Hello!

Pretty misty first thing but the sun is now shining although I have read that there are wintry showers forecast for the weekend, woopee we'll miss it!

I watched Broadchurch last night and can't make up my mind if I enjoyed it or not.  Maybe it's just one of these series that takes a couple of episodes to get into. I'll watch it again next week and see what I think.  Luckily the apartment we are going to in Spain has British TV so we don't need to miss anything!  I especially don't want to miss the final of Dancing on Ice.  I was so upset for Gareth last week when he was too ill to carry on.  What a shame getting to that stage and going out the way he did.  I'd like to see Beth winning but I fear it may be Matt.

I'm going to post my card for today then I'm making a start to packing!

Good morning one and all!

I say this every day just now ... sunshine and blue skies.  Let's hope it lasts over the weekend.

My daughter and I are meeting my cousin and her daughter for lunch today so I'd better get a wriggle on as I've still to have my shower.

Sparkle & Shine

Good morning!
What a beautiful day it was yesterday.  My friend and I had lunch then instead of going home by the motorway, we took the scenic route through the hills and it was stunning.  What a difference a wee bit sun makes.

Today I've a card for Ooh La La Creations with a lovely theme of Sparkle and Shine.  I've added Star Dust Stickles round the image for the sparkle and the hearts and dots are the shine.  When I read the theme I didn't think a wedding card would be appropriate but after a bit of thinking (!) I liked this image and found it worked very well.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you're up to.  I'll get to the bottom of the ironing pile eventually then I need to hop into town.  My new bus pass is sure getting some use!
