Card Maker

My Card Maker mag is sent to our home in Scotland and it was only on Thursday that my dearly beloved (aka personal courier) brought it to me.  I immediately fell in love with the beautiful papers and as it's a very dear friend's birthday this month I set to and made this card.  I am emailing it to Card Maker for their Your Cards page.

Elements :
BP, Image & Sentiment - Spring Florals Collection by Nancy Watts - free papers in March 2010 Card Maker magazine
Faux Stitching - #636 by Tombow
Other bits and bobs from stash

I Love Digi - Think Pink - this is a new challenge site

Elements :
Image - Maisy Asleep on Bench by Di's Digi Downloads
BP - Pajama Party by Doodlebug
Ticket - Crafty Ann
Other bits and bobs from stash

I watercoloured the image using #22, #60, #67, by Marvy, #761, #969, #985 by Tombow, #705 Gelly Roll pen by Sakure.  I distressed the edge of the ticket using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  The ticket was originally blank and I added the sentiment to it.  The reason I used Peace was I meant to enter this into the Digital Ink Co challenge of that name but unfortunately this company is suddenly no longer.

Challenge :
Crafty Ann's - Celebrate Your Creativity - something that takes you out of your comfort zone

Elements :
BP - Abstract 2 Pastels in Pink, Polished Stone Brights in Red both by Crafty Ann
Image - Posy by Crafty Ann
Sentiment - Cute Companions Romance Stamp Set by Jane Nesterenko

The image has been water coloured using #177, #761 by Tombow and #67 by Marvy.  I decoupaged the bow just to give the card a lift.  The edge of the images was distressed using Tattered Rose Distress Ink by Tim Holtz

As for out of my comfort zone, well I am on three counts -
1      making a DL card, I've got used to 6x6
2      colouring, I've still not mastered shading
3      distressing - I've lightly distressed round the edge of the image but not completely happy with it

ASFOS / Belli / DT / TPE

I didn't do much crafting yesterday and didn't have a card ready to schedule for this morning.  I had a mountain of ironing to do before it engulfed me when I opened the cupboard!  It's half done and once I'm finished posting this I'm off to do the other half - do I get a gold star?

I'm entering this card for the Digi Tuesday challenge even though my dear Mum is no longer with us.  She would have loved seeing all my creations and I know she would have been delighted with this card.

Challenges :
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Distress Inks, Pearl and Glitter
Creative Belli - Butterflies or Dragonflies
Digital Tuesday - A Card for Mum

Elements :
Floral BP - Hydrangea Bouquet by K&Co
Other BP - ???
Sentiment - from a set of 4 Round Greetings by Cuddly Buddly
Image - Dragonflies
Edge - Scalloped Dots punch by Martha Stewart
Pearls - Kanban
Other bits and bobs from stash

The image was coloured using Milled Lavender, Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap Distress Inks by Tim Holtz and #177 pen by Tombow.  The dragonfly wings were glittered with Star Dust Stickles.  The edge of the image was torn and I used Tea Dye Distress Ink on the edge.

I WON, I WON, I WON

Just had to share my excitement with you!  I've won the Fred, She Said Monthly Challenge which was Use the FSS challenge blog header and background as inspiration for your card, layout or altered project.  My prize is $20 to spend in the FSS store and there is so much I like there the choice is going to be extremely difficult, but, I'm sure I'll manage!

- this is the card I made

Elements :
BP, Image and Tag - Oriental Blue Digi Download Set by Ooh La La Creations
Sentiment on tag - computer generated
Tassle & Chinese Coin - Joanna Sheen
Pearl Brad - The Hobby House
Other bits and bobs from stash

I have made this as a Joy Fold Card using the acetate as the fold over the top.  I decoupaged the Oriental Lady's fan and put Star Dust Stickles on the ribs.  I'm sorry this picture doesn't give the true effect but photographing acetate (for me anyway!) is difficult as you either get a reflection or you can't see it at all.

Prizes and freebies - go on, join in here

Kindness Personified

Whilst hopping about the other day I wandered into Cheryl's blog.  Apart from the lovely creations she has I came across the very professional way she finishes off the back of her card.  I put printed labels on mine but thought this was so much more in keeping with our craft.

Me, being me, emailed Cheryl to ask how she created these.  Unfotunately I don't have the application she used and she very kindly offered to do some for me, of course I accepted and here's the finished result.
Many thanks Cheryl, what would we do without fellow bloggers who give their advice and talents so freely.
